Discover how to sing or play from original renaissance notation – short course for SEMF with Alison Kinder. Book here.
26 November @ 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm
So much renaissance music is now available in modern editions that you may think “why bother” to learn to read it from the original notation. But playing or singing music as it was originally “published” can illuminate how how to interpret modern editions – as well as being fascinating in its own right. In this short practical course Alison Kinder will explain how to interpret renaissance composers’ original notation, and will provide lots of opportunities to “play – or sing – along” with her (muted, of course!). The course combines two live teaching sessions (at 7pm on 26th November and 3rd December) via Zoom, plus two specially prepared “play-along” videos so we can practice what we’ve learnt. Music will be provided (including copies in modern notation if you want to “cheat” sometimes!)
The fee for the whole course is £15 for Forum members, £20 for non-members. Click HERE to book online. Numbers limited, so please book early.
